Rhythm & Timing Basics Course

Sale price€29,00

The most beautiful handpan moments rarely happen by chance.
They arise through rhythm , through timing , through the feeling that hands, body and instrument become one.

This course starts precisely at this point.

Many skip these basics because they simply want to play - and that's perfectly fine - but as mentioned in my book, it always comes down to what you want.

But one thing is clear:
Without rhythm there is no freedom.
Without timing, there is no flow.
Without coordination, there is no ease.

And yes – some exercises in this course may feel dry, clear and structured.
But this is exactly the kind of work that counts.
This is exactly where your control grows.
This is exactly where the dexterity develops that will later enable you to do everything – from meditative grooves to complex patterns.

What you will learn in this course:
  • Understanding rhythmic building blocks
The elements that make up every groove – explained simply, directly applicable.
  • Timing & Stability
How to stay in the groove – whether slow, fast or with variations.
  • Training independence
The left and right hand gradually become a team that works together without thinking.
  • Pedal Notes & Finger Dexterity
Techniques that make your game more dynamic, faster, and more precise.
  • Coordination, Flow & Sound Control
The body learns movement patterns that later lead to true freedom of play.
Why this course is so important

Because this is exactly where your musical foundation is built.
Rhythm is not the "extras" – it is the core.

It's the part that determines whether your game is chaotic or clear .
halting or flowing ,
thought or sounds intuitive .

You don't have to love these exercises.
But you'll love what they do with your game.

And I promise you:
If you truly internalize this foundation,
A world of possibilities opens up to you – not sometime in the future,
but step by step, even while you are learning.

Who is this course for?

For all those who want to understand,
why some hands glide freely –
and how you too can get there.

If you are ready to strengthen the foundation,
Here you will find the key to everything,
what comes next.

Where our instruments are made

I've held many handpans in my hands. Beautiful instruments, touching ideas — and yet rarely what I was looking for.

Too often the sound was too harsh, too metallic, too fluttery, lacking heart in tone, lacking tranquility in the room. Even with big names.

I wanted a sound with soul. Warm, clear, deep — without harshness, without chaos, with a center that carries.

So I continued my search. I listened, played, compared, and discarded. For a long time. Patiently. Until I found my partner: a sound maker in Hong Kong who follows the same path—away from mass production, towards dedication, research, and presence.

With their small team, our instruments are created there. Not quickly. Not in series. But in silence, perseverance, and a genuine love for sound.

This is how our sound is created: from encounter, selection, trust and the will to only pass on what truly touches the heart.

Sound that connects

The handpan is more than an instrument – it's an invitation to connect with yourself. At Handpanladen, we share this fascination with everyone who longs for sound, tranquility, and inspiration. Whether at your first trial session, in one of our workshops, or while listening to a concert: here, space is created for connection, mindfulness, and joy. We believe that music needs no language – it arises in the moment, between people, through resonance.

A place to arrive

The Handpan Shop isn't your average shop; it's a place to breathe. Nestled in the heart of Balingen, you'll find a small, welcoming space where you can explore the world of handpans at your own pace. We take our time, listen, and help you find your instrument – not just by sound, but by feeling. Because you don't simply choose a handpan; you encounter it.

Quality with soul

Each of our handpans is crafted with love, experience, and care. We collaborate with a select workshop that shares the same commitment: the finest sound, harmonious tuning, and sustainable materials. Our goal is to offer instruments that will accompany you for many years – with a sound that touches and sustains you. From the first note to the profound silence that follows.

Learn, listen, let go

Our workshops, courses, and gatherings invite you to become part of the sound itself. No prior experience is necessary—just curiosity. Step by step, you'll learn to play freely, feel rhythms, and connect with others. We'll accompany you on your journey—mindfully, clearly, and with joy. Because music isn't a destination, but a journey.

Handpan Family - sounding together

What drives us is community. Whether you're a beginner, a teacher, or simply a lover of sound – at Handpanladen, you're part of a family that shares sound, not compares. We support projects, events, and ambassadors who spread this idea. Because when we play, we give each other presence. And that's perhaps the most beautiful thing sound can do.

Responsibility & Trust

We believe that true quality goes beyond sound. That's why we focus not only on meticulous craftsmanship, but also on fair partnerships, transparent sourcing, and sustainable materials. Every handpan that leaves our workshop is individually inspected, tuned, and lovingly packaged – by people who live and breathe sound. When you buy or rent from us, you can rely on honest advice, personal contact, and a sense of trust. Because for us, it's not about a quick sale, but about the moment you feel: This is my handpan.
